If you’re a local or on your vacation to the area on June 7-9 you can take in the 2024 Whitecourt Woodlands Rodeo. Every year, the Whitecourt District Agricultural Society’s Rodeo Committee works hard to make the event bigger and better than the year before.
The 2024 Rodeo will be taking place June 7-9, 2024, the weekend starts at 5:30 PM Friday at the Rodeo Grounds at Whitecourt District Agricultural Society, located on Hwy 32 South, 8 km south of Whitecourt. This year we will have a Friday night Evening Rodeo under the Lights to start right after the All Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariots. Check the website for times and Schedule.
Gates open at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 7-2024 Beer Gardens open at 5:00 PM
It's a huge draw to have the All Pro Canadian Chuckwagon & Chariots at 5:30 start onboard for the 2024 Rodeo. With the WRA Rodeo package for an Evening Rodeo starting right after the Chuckwagons. The opening Ceremonies will start with the formal introductions followed by "The Buckshot Bandits Drill Team" Followed by the WRA Evening Rodeo.
Free camping is available with a weekend pass.
. Gates open at 8:30 AM on Saturday. The Whitecourt Wheels Car Show will begin at 10 AM - 3:00 pm
To start the day off at 9:00am with the Heavey Horse Pulls featuring Teams from all over Central Alberta and BC. This should be an exciting event to see which Team can pull the most weight according to the weight of the Team.
Set for a 12:00 PM start, watch the Wildrose Rodeo Association (WRA) events, co-sanctioned by the Lakeland Rodeo Association (LRA) . Cowboys face off in numerous events - Bareback, Novice Horse, Calf Roping, Junior Steer Riding, Steer Wrestling, Junior Bull Riding, Junior Breakaway Roping, Ladies Barrels, Junior Barrels, Peewee Barrels, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Team Roping. Whitecourt Woodlands Rodeo boasts the largest number of contestants within the three associations.
"The Buckshot Bandits Drill Team" will start right after Opening Ceremonies.
Chuckwagons and Chariots run all three Nights at 5:30 PM
Change on Slack because of a conflict with another Rodeo will be after the Chuckwagons at about 8:00 pm Saturday evening. Spectators are welcome to Stay and watch.
9:00pm Rodeo Dance at the Westward Hall on the Rodeo Grounds with the Band "The Bandits" from Wetaskiwin AB.
Daily concessions, 50/50 raffles, and beer gardens are available every day.

Starting Time for the Junior Rodeo will be 9:00 am - 11:00 am depending on Entries. 11:00 to 12:00 Local Barrel Racing. 12:00 to 12:45 will be Fun events for Kids. Please check the website to stay Informed. Youth boys and girls compete in Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Team Roping, and Goat Tying.
12:45 - 3:30 Mixed Team Roping
4:00 to 7:00 will be the All-Pro Chuckwagons and Chariots to end the rodeo
