Another successful market has come and gone and we have many thanks to give!
We couldn't have done half of what we wanted to without the help of several people and corporations around town and the county.
First off, a huge thank you to the Whitecourt Legion for joining our market and allowing us to sell poppies for you. You add an amazing component to our market by selling your wares alongside the other vendors.
We would also like to thank Woodlands County for the daily draw prizes that we handed out this year. This year's door prize winners were: Saturday - Trista, Sunday - John and our vendor prize went to Karen.
Thank you to Rexall for offering shoppers and vendors the opportunity to receive free flu shots if they wanted them. The convenience for those who wanted to do so was greatly appreciated.
Thank you to Dynamic for the amazing and smooth running ATM! I think there were many shoppers this past weekend that were thankful for the ease of use and the availability of cash when they needed it!
Special thanks to St. Joe's students, Amber, Andrew, Austin and Emma who helped us out with the sorting of Food Bank items. You put your best foot forward and shone. You represented true citizenship and the spirit of the holiday. You give us hope of what the future will look like with your kindness and generosity!
Food bank volunteers who came to help organize the food bank items and transported them directly to the bank without delay were truly spectacular. Your team is a well oiled machine! The food bank was able to bring back a few carloads of food and over $2000 in cash donations. Whitecourt and Woodlands County residents, you are truly a supportive community. The food bank still has a long way to go to filling their shelves and feeding locals who would otherwise go without. Please, be sure to think of them throughout the year.
This market wouldn't be able to run year after year with out the support of the Whitecourt District Agricultural Society. They make sure that this market happens and have always been there to help make it bigger and better each year.
And finally, thank you to the vendors and to you, most importantly, the shoppers, for attending this market and helping to make it the best ten years that we have been able to keep bringing it back to you. You all make it worth it!
The Christmas Market is already taking shape with the Legion joining us again for another great market.
